The Ship in at Lathom or the Blood Tub as it is known is a large pub/restaurant next to the junction of the Rufford Branch and the mainline. The canal and the Top Lock can be found behind the pub. The pub has dining rooms and a boot room which welcomes dogs. There is outdoor seating. There are at least six real ales on tap and a menu of classic English pub food. The pubs nickname comes from its history as a place to find black pudding or a fight. There is a large car park opposite the pub.

nice pub but terrible attitude they just stop serving food whenever they feel like, on 3 occasions 7.30pm instead of 9pm even after phoning to check what time they finish serving before we left home.

The food isnt cheap but its very nice! The fish is the size of a whale. Nice to see a pub so busy.

The pub was taken over by two local Parbold couples and underwent a major refurb in April 2011, hope everyone is enjoying the new look Ship!

Much improved. Food is great, beer is good. Nice clean and smart.

Proper pub. Favourite quote from old guy at bar-I love a good funeral and a piece of slab cake...

Amazing food. Must have done up interior as I found it fine. Bit on the pricey side, but worth it for location and menu.

If only it still looked like the picture shown!!! Very, very tatty and grubby outside. (and the inside is not much better!)

Had a huge whale of a fish and chips, good range of beer, popular pub on a sunny evening.

Lets itself down by its run down and untidy exterior and messy outside seating areas.
