Former Lancaster Canal South Section 47 -37 miles	Wigan is famous for its pies and pier. The distinctive warehouse with twin loading bays underneath marks the former terminus of the canal before it turned right to meet the Lancaster Canal. Next to the canal is the impressive Trencherfield Mill. Near the bottom of the infamous Wigan flight is the Leigh branch which links the Leeds & Liverpool Canal with the Bridgewater Canal and Manchester.
