About Canals

Canals could be an important part of the regeneration of our city centres. Not so long ago people campaigned to get canals filled in, now canals are being refurbished and new links are being built. Canals definately have a future but hopefully not at the expense of their past. Canals have a great history and played an important part as a catalyst in creating the Industrial Revolution. Canals have their own architecture and culture.
